India’s richest four are worth a whopping USD 180 billion. That is more than the 40 richest Chinese put together, reports CNBC-TV18.

The stock market has had a heady run, and so has the wealth of India’s richest. For the first time, all entrants in the Forbes list of richest Indians are billionaires. Steel baron Lakshmi Mittal who owns the world’s largest steel group,Arcelor Mittal tops the list with a networth of USD 51 billion. On the global list, Mittal ranks fifth.

Reliance Industries’ head honcho Mukesh Ambani came in a close second, with a personal fortune of USD 49 billion, while brother Anil Ambani came in third at USD 45 billion. Globally, Mukesh ranks 14th and Anil ranks 18th.

The huge run in real estate stocks has seen DLF’s Kushal Pal Singh emerge the world’s richest developer, and in the list of richest Indians, he ranks fourth with a networth of USD 35 billion.

Azim Premji, with a networth of USD 14.8 billion, occupies the fifth position and Sunil Mittal has been ranked sixth. Essar Group’s Shashi and Ravi Ruia are the only new entrants in the top ten.
In a statement, Forbes said that India now has 54 billionaires and 18 more than last year.
